Anesthesia Protocol
At North 78 Pet Hospital, we take anesthesia and sedation protocols very seriously! For every anesthesia procedure we require our patients to have pre-anesthetic blood work the same day as the procedure. Which will allow us to customize a plan for your pet to maintain the safest plane of anesthesia. All patients will receive an intravenous catheter, fluids therapy, and kept warm while under anesthesia. They will also be monitored by one of our experienced surgical technicians using the most modern monitoring equipment.
When surgery is complete, we’ll gently relocate your pet to our recovery area and notify you immediately via text message. As the anesthesia begins to wear off, our surgical technician will be there to offer comfort and reassurance to your pet. Our goal is to help make the experience as calm as possible. When you arrive to pick up your pet, we will go over our aftercare instructions, including a plan for pain management. We want to ensure that your pet recovers as quickly and comfortably as possible.
We believe no pet recovers alone!
